The Problem:
Isuzu’s head office needed a power backup system capable of supporting critical server infrastructure without interruptions. A power outage or fluctuation could lead to data loss, downtime, and disruptions to business operations. The solution had to:
- Deliver a long-term power backup that could sustain operations for years without degradation.
- Include remote monitoring capabilities to track system performance and identify potential issues early.
- Be easy to service to avoid any downtime during maintenance.
The client also wanted an ongoing maintenance plan to ensure the system remained reliable over time.
Our Solution:
PSS installed an EP60 UPS, configured to handle the power demands of Isuzu’s server infrastructure. The system was built for extended performance and included:
- A bank of 32 PSS120 (120Ah) batteries, providing long-duration backup power.
- An external maintenance bypass, allowing servicing without taking the system offline.
- SNMP and battery monitoring, enabling remote tracking of battery health and UPS performance.
The Result:
The EP60 UPS system, with a projected lifespan of 15 years under proper maintenance, has been critical in supporting Isuzu’s servers since 2018. The combination of robust hardware, proactive monitoring, and routine servicing has allowed Isuzu to rely on a stable power backup without disruptions.
