Overview:
A radiology clinic required a power solution that could support their CT scanners, MRI, and X-ray machines, which demand over 200A of power. However, their site’s main grid supply was limited to 100A, and exceeding this would trip the main input breaker, causing operational disruptions.
Solution Provided:
PSS designed a custom EP200 UPS setup with an external battery bank (including 32 x 100Ah batteries), allowing the clinic to:
- Draw 100A from the grid while supplementing additional power from the UPS when needed.
- Benefit from a Galvanic isolation transformer, which stabilizes power delivery and protects against surges.
- Ensure full site protection against short power outages, maintaining seamless operation of critical medical equipment.
- Implement a cost-effective alternative to expensive grid upgrades, while gaining enhanced power reliability and stability.
Outcome:
This tailored solution provided the radiology clinic with uninterrupted power for their high-energy medical equipment, avoiding costly grid infrastructure upgrades. By integrating the EP200 UPS system, the clinic not only secured a stable power supply but also safeguarded their operations against unexpected outages.
Key Highlights:
✅ Custom UPS solution to supplement limited grid power.
✅ Galvanic isolation transformer for stable and reliable energy supply.
✅ Full site protection against power fluctuations and short outages.
✅ Cost-effective alternative to grid infrastructure upgrades.
