What are UPS battery back-up Devices?

Uninterruptable power supplies are battery units, that are essential for safeguarding against power disruptions like failures, sags, brownouts, surges, spikes, and electrical noise. They play a crucial role in protecting sensitive medical equipment. The UPS inside the Vacc-safe PowerGuard is specifically engineered to back up medical fridges, ensuring vaccines stay at required temperatures during power outages and safeguarding against potential spoilage.

FAQs

Think of the UPS as your fridge’s safety net. It’s designed for plug-and-play, so once your fridge is plugged in, the UPS automatically springs into action. You’ll see a single green LED light on the panel—this is your “all systems go” signal.

When the main power supply is interrupted, the UPS immediately switches to battery mode. You will see an amber light on the UPS panel at the bottom of the fridge, indicating that it’s now operating on battery power.

Just like you service your car to keep it running smoothly, your fridge and UPS system need annual check-ups to ensure everything is in top condition.

If your UPS is ever off, you can restart it by pressing the black button located on the bottom panel of the fridge. It’s like flipping a switch to power everything back on.

Backup time depends on the model you’ve purchased, typically between 5 to 9 hours. To make the most of this time, avoid opening the fridge door—it’s like keeping the cold air sealed in, extending your battery life.

When storing the fridge, this is the one time you’ll want to turn it off. Use the black button on the bottom panel to power down the UPS and fully disconnect the fridge, like unplugging a device when it’s no longer needed.
